“…Mandarin production is forecast to decrease to 26.5 million metric tons in 2023 due to unfavorable weather and reduced planted acreage resulting from Huanglongbing (HLB). HLB is the most destructive disease of citrus and has caused large losses in citrus cultivation worldwide, covering more than 50 nations in the tropics and subtropics of Asia and Africa, including India and Bangladesh. In China, the disease is caused by infection by the unculturable α-proteobacterium Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus ( Ca Las).
