“…Thin films of the TlBaCaCuO family have been usually prepared through ex-situ synthetic procedures involving the initial deposition of a precursor film containing Ba, Ca, and Cu, followed by a high-temperature annealing process of the matrix, carried out in a different reactor, under exposure to Tl 2 O vapors. These c-axis oriented films have been obtained on a variety of commercially available substrates, such as SrTiO 3 , LaAlO 3 , NdGaO 3 , YSZ (yttria stabilized zirconia), MgO, or on buffer layers such as CeO 2 , SrTiO 3 , and Sr 2 AlTaO 6 . The best combination of HTS material and substrate strongly depends on the specific end-use, thus the substrate choice is actually driven by the final application requirements.…”
