Novel Optimization Approach in Ultrasonic Machining: Unilateral Compensation for Resonant Vibration in Primary Side

Abstract: Resonant frequency and impedance matching have great significance for the vibration performance and online monitoring of the rotary ultrasonic machining. Network compensation is a typical solution to match the resonant frequency and the impedance between the rotary ultrasonic holder (RUH) and the ultrasonic transducer. However, the traditional bilateral compensation method could adversely affect the rotary dynamic balance of the RUH. Currently, the existing unilateral compensation methods can only realize the … Show more

“…Для достижения энергоэффективного режима обработки также требуется поиск режима авторезонанса режущей системы станка с целью снижения рассеивания энергии колебательной системы. В настоящее время в Мире известны и находят широкое применение источники ультразвуковых колебаний с автоподстройкой режима авторезонанса [39].…”

“…J. Imaoka et al [18] studied the primary side series parallel matched resonant circuit with asymmetric ICPT structure for ultrasonic spindle, which helps to reduce the voltage drop caused by leakage inductance. Zhang et al [19] realized resonance frequency matching and impedance matching by combining the primary side matching topology with adjusting the air gap between ICPT coils. Jiang et al [20] proposed a matching method based on the secondary leakage inductance self-compensation theory.…”

“…RLC networks are adopted to reduce the electrical impedance mismatching [14][15][16]. This method is universal and is suitable for all kinds of transducers [11,17]. However, the RLC network is of narrow bandwidth which is to be avoided in high frequency transducers [18].…”
