Novel P-Cycle protection strategy for asymmetric traffic in mesh optical networks

Abstract: A novel prefigured-cycle (P-Cycle) algorithm was proposed to improve the protection success ratio for asymmetric traffic in mesh optical networks. The proposed algorithm was simulated in a Pan-European COST239 network environment under an asymmetric dynamic traffic model. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has lower capacity redundancy and higher utilization rate of configured resources than traditional P-Cycle methods. Network performance can be improved when implementing this algorithm… Show more

“…They obtained surprising efficiency gain when asymmetric links were used. In the study by Li et al [16], the authors proposed a p ‐cycle protection model for dynamic and asymmetric traffic environment to fight an excessive waste of resources. They proposed a heuristic algorithm that can perform well in an asymmetric dynamic traffic environment called the combination of basic p ‐cycle protection model and extended protection model‐meshed p ‐cycle.…”

“…There is a big difference between highway bridge and railway bridge in Load form, design method and traffic demands, such as, highway bridge is usually broader than the railway Bridges, and its transverse stress problem is prominent, so the highway driving but form of channel beam and mechanical characteristics are in need of researching [1][2][3]. In addition, the vehicle loads on driving deck in highway bridge, where the horizontal position is not fixed, the vehicle loads on driving deck in railway Bridges, where the horizontal position is fixed by rail, sleeper and ballast indirect role.…”

“…The former Soviet union also design the railway standard design of the girders [8]. Relatively, the study of concrete U-shaped beam in China started much later, and the progress has obtained in theory and experimental of U-shaped beam in recent years [9]. The U-shaped beam has been applied in the railway and has a good condition after many years' working status, and the applications of highways and city Bridges are fewer.…”
