Novel quinazoline and acetamide derivatives as safe anti-ulcerogenic agent and anti-ulcerative colitis activity

Abstract: Two novel quinazoline derivatives named as; 3-[(4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-benzylidene)-amino]-2-tolyl-3-quinazolin-4-one () and 2--Tolyl-3-[3,4,5-trimethoxy-benzylidene-amino]-3-quinazolin-4-one () in addition to one acetamide derivative named as 2-(2-Hydroxycarbonylphenylamino)--(4-aminosulphonylphenyl) were synthesized, and evaluated for their anti-ulcerogenic& Anti-Ulcerative colitis activities. All of the three compounds showed curative activity against acetic acid induced ulcer model at a dose of 50 mg/kg, they… Show more

“…Chloroacetyl chloride was allowed to react with different amines as a result of which different acetamide derivatives were obtained (1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7)(8). The corresponding acetamide derivatives were treated with a number of amines to produce respective targeted derivatives having acetamide functionality in common (1a-1b, 2a-2b and 3a-3g).…”

“…In the process of drug development, synthetic chemistry plays an important role in regards to modification of already known therapeutically active compounds, to make them more safe and clinically active agents [1][2][3][4][5]. Halogenated organic acids and their derivatives are responsible for inhibiting the bacterial development, fungi as well as parasites and viruses [6].…”
