136pm and 136Nd were studied using the/? decay of 136Sm and 136pm. The radioactive nuclei were produced by the 92Mo (4STi, xpyn) and llZSn (288i, xpyn) reactions. The UNISOR isotope separator enabled mass identification. The previously unknown level scheme of ~ 36pm was constructed and the half-life of 136Sm was determined to be 47 + 2 s. Six new levels and thirteen new 7-ray transitions have been added to the level scheme of 136Nd.
