Nuclear magnetic resonance and thermal studies of drug doped dipalmitoyl phosphatidyl choline-H2O systems

Abstract: The influence of the sulfone drugs, diamino diphenyl sulfone and diamino monophenyl sulfone on the phase transitions and dynamics of dipalmitoyl phosphatidyl choline-H 2 O/D 2 O vesicles have been investigated using differential scanning calorimetry and nuclear magnetic resonance. Our results show that diamino diphenyl sulfone interacts quite strongly with the headgroups of dipalmitoyl phosphatidyl choline whereas the diamino monophenyl sulfone-dipalmitoyl phosphatidyl choline interaction is quite weak. This i… Show more

“…Considering the phosphatidylcholine (DPPC) structure as an example ( Figure 2 ). The peaks ranging from 1.1 ppm to 1.4 ppm corresponds to (-CH 2 -) n , (ω-1)CH 2 and (ω-2)CH 2 ; 0.7 ppm corresponds to terminal alkyl protons (ωCH 3 ); and 1.8–2.5 ppm covers protons at α/β positions next to carbonyl group 51 . The broad peak seen at 3.9–4.7 ppm encompasses the alpha protons from the amino acids 52 constituting the keratin in the toe shed.…”

“…1 b). Some sharp peaks, from 0.8 to 2.3 ppm, were ascribed to lipid compositions 43 , 44 . The lipid peaks were the most distinct in cat hairs and hardly observed in pig hairs (Fig.…”
