Nuclear quadrupole resonance study of the cubic to tetragonal phase transition in K2OsCl6: Uniaxial pressure effects

Abstract: 35 Cl nuclear quadrupole resonance measurements are reported on two single crystal samples of K 2 OsCl 6 subjected to uniaxial pressure. The crystals are cut to allow the stress to be applied in the (100) and (111) directions. Line-shape and spin-lattice relaxation data are obtained over the temperature range 30-57 K spanning the transition temperature for the cubic to tetragonal structural phase transition.
