Nucleic acid sensor for insecticide detection

Abstract: Nucleic acid sensor based on polyaniline (PANI) has been fabricated by covalently immobilizing double stranded calf thymus (dsCT) DNA onto perchlorate (ClO(-) (4))-doped PANI film deposited onto indium-tin-oxide (ITO) glass plate using 1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-3-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC)/N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) chemistry. These dsCT-DNA-PANI-ClO(4)/ITO and PANI-ClO(4)/ITO electrodes have been characterized using square wave voltammetry, electrochemical impedance, scanning electron microscopy (S… Show more

“…In the present studies, PANI has been electrochemically prepared in water using lithium perchlorate (LiClO 4) as dopant11 to improve the conductivity of matrix. The low lattice energy and completely dissociated ions (ClO 4) are free for conduction,12 providing tetra‐coordinate environment with PANI 13–14.…”

“…Mannosylated aniline monomer was electrochemically polymerized to form manno-PANI on the ITO electrode in HEPES (pH=7.4) buffer as reported in neutral aqueous media (Chan et al, 1994; Nguyen et al, 1999; Solanki et al, 2008; Yue et al, 1991; Zhou et al, 2009). At pH (7.4), carbohydrates are uncharged and their bioactivities are maintained.…”
