Numerical analysis of magneto-natural convection and thermal radiation of SWCNT nanofluid inside T-inverted shaped corrugated cavity containing porous medium

Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine numerically the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) free convection and thermal radiation heat transfer of single walled carbon nanotubes-water nanofluid within T-inverted shaped corrugated cavity comprising porous media including uniform heat source/sink for solar energy power plants applications. Design/methodology/approach The two-dimensional numerical simulation is performed by drawing on Comsol Multiphysics program, based on the finite element process. Findings Th… Show more

“…Natural convection in porous media is a vital and intriguing research area with numerous applications in engineering and scientific domains. Exploring the behaviour of fluid flow and heat transfer in porous media holds significant importance for optimizing heat exchangers, geothermal systems, thermal insulators and energy-efficient building designs (Lei and Patterson, 2002; Massoudi et al , 2021; Cho, 2020; Nield and Simmons, 2019; Das et al , 2017). Moreover, understanding natural convection phenomena plays a crucial role in enhancing the performance of these systems and improving their heat transfer characteristics (Ali and Salam, 2020).…”
