Of Two Steels Used in Tillage Tools

Abstract:This study combines computer simulation using the Discrete Element Method (DEM) with field experiments to assess the resistance to abrasive wear of AISI 1010 and AISI C1064 steels in tillage tools. It was found that the wear on AISI 1010 was over 50% higher than on AISI C1064. The DEM model accurately predicted wear (e=0.005g, R^2=99.8%), regardless of operational conditions and steel characteristics.
