Abstract:Gas migration behaviour in saturated, compacted bentonite, especially under rigid-boundary conditions, is controversial. Gas breakthrough phenomena, observed under higher pressure gradient conditions in laboratory experiments, are described in literatures by adopting visco-capillary or dilatancy-controlled flow concept.
