Abstract:Here, short duration direct numerical simulations of shock water cylinder interaction in a two-dimensional channel are conducted to study shock wave attenuation at time scales smaller than the cylinder convection time. Four different cylinder configurations, i.e., 1×1, 2×2, 3×3, and 4×4, are considered, where the total volume of water is kept constant throughout all the cases. Meanwhile, the incident shock Mach number was varied from 1.1-1.4. The physical motion of the water cylinders is quantitatively studied… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
