Abstract:Tidal power is one of the renewable energy sources. The tides produced in the water is used to drive the blade rotation of a tidal turbine for energy conversion. However, the blade rotation produces noises over 10–150 kHz that affect underwater mammals. In this wok, numerical simulations are conducted to predict the hydro-acoustics signature of different NACA foils, which could be used for tidal turbine blades. Finite volume and Ffowcs-WilliamsHawking’s method are used to predict the fluid dynamics and acousti… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
