Abstract:Artificial ground freezing (AGF) is a common technology of shaft sinking through water-bearing strata. The AGF technique is used to create a frozen wall preventing shaft flooding. An additional factor that makes shaft sinking more complicated is associated with external groundwater flows occurred due to hydrostatic pressure gradients. In this paper, we study the influence of groundwater seepage on the frozen wall formation in fluidsaturated rock mass in the framework of the two-dimensional two-phase Darcy-Stef… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
