Numerical Simulation of Temperature Field and Stress Field to Multiple Laser Cladding Co Coatings

Abstract: In order to analyze temperature field and stress field of Co-based alloys laser cladding, the model of Co-based alloys laser cladding with preset-powder method has been made on low carbon steel substrate. The temperature field and stress field of laser cladding process was analyzed by SYSWELD software, and Experimental verification is done. The results showed that temperature field is appear to a trailing tail of comet, favorable metallurgy bonding with 12.3% dilution was obtained by scanning velocity was 4 mm… Show more

“…In the LMD process, there is a solid phase to liquid phase to solid phase transition, during which the material will continue to absorb or release a large amount of heat called phase transition latent heat. Therefore, the latent heat of the phase transition must be considered when establishing the finite element model [ 39 ]. The method of dealing with latent heat in ABAQUS (2017, SIMULIA, Johnston, RI, USA) is the enthalpy method—that is, the method of enthalpy varying with temperature is used to define latent heat, and its expression is as follows: where is enthalpy, is density, and is the specific heat capacity.…”

“…(2) Heat which is generated by plastic deformation and keyhole effect are ignored. (3) Without considering the pool flowing, the fluid is regarded to solid with low stress.2.3 Heat sourceWhether the actual situation is accurately reflected by analysis results is largely depended on the heat source model which is appropriate choose or not, the calculating precision of temperature field has important effect, especially on the molten pool in the high temperature area near the heat source[5] . Considering the influence of heat source, a part of heat of laser cladding process is input to the work-piece by heat conduction and radiation, the heat source model of Gauss distribution is choose in this paper, and Gauss distribution function is used as follow.…”
