Numerical Simulation on Flow Field and Design Optimization of a Generator Unit Based on Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis

Abstract: Achieving an optimal cooling of the generator unit is indispensable for high working performance. In this work, computational fluid dynamics analysis on the flow field of the conventional type and silent type of the S688CCS series generator unit is conducted, and design optimization of the generator unit with poor cooling is studied based on flow field analysis results. Flow field simulation results indicate that the total cooling air quantity of the silent type generator unit is lower than that of the convent… Show more

“…Turbulence models consider the statistical features of turbulence to estimate the impact of turbulent motion. The k-ε model, commonly used in CFD simulations of turbulent fluid dynamics and widely applied in near-wall turbulence modeling in engineering fields, describes the velocity and turbulent energy distribution of the turbulent flow [24]. Wilcox's modified formulation of the k-ω turbulence model [25] includes a single new closure approach and an adjustment describing the dependence of the eddy viscosity on turbulence properties.…”

“…Zhang Yu, and Yin Jianping et al proposed a multi-mode combatant with a composite poly charge structure, changing the location of the initiation point and the shape of the blast wave acting on the drug-type hood, and using LS-DYNA software to study multi-mode destructive element formation yielded an increase in the length and length-to-diameter ratio of the destructive element formed by the multi-mode combatant with the increase in the thickness of the outer hood top [2] . Xu Guangze and Zhang Liang studied the optimization of dual-mode combatant structures using ANSYS software simulation, and the optimal structure parameters of JET and JPC detonation method and charge cover were obtained [3] . Wang Yang, Han Yinquan, et al focused on the optimized design of a dualmode combatant forming charge stern structure and analyzed the influence of the forming charge stern structure on the explosive-formed projectile (EFP) and the penetration body of the concentrator rod (JPC).…”
