Abstract:Polio or poliomyelitis was around since the ancient Egyptian times as a disabling and lifethreatening disease caused by the poliovirus, which is very contagious and spreads from person-to-person contact. About 25% with poliovirus infection will have flu-like symptoms including sore throat, fever, tiredness, nausea, headache, and stomach pain, usually last 2 to 5 days that went away on their own.
