Nutrient limitation mimics artemisinin tolerance in malaria

Abstract: Mounting evidence demonstrates that nutritional environment can alter pathogen drug sensitivity. While the nutrient-rich media used for standard in vitro culture contains supra-physiological nutrient concentrations, pathogens encounter a relatively restrictive environment in vivo.
