Abstract:Nutrition in gastrointestinal (GI) cancer is an important part of treatment protocol. A detailed study of published guidelines is necessary to prevent pre-operative malnutrition and sustain peri-operative nutrition in such patients. In this review, we discuss and propose guidelines and recommendations based on established guidelines to suit the Indian population with different GI cancers (gastric, esophageal, pancreatic, colorectal and hepatocellular cancers).
