“…There were significant (P < 0.05) higher in the values of total protein, (TP), Alanine Transaminase (ALT), Alkaline phosphate (ALP), Aspartate Transaminase (AST), cholesterol, albumin and creatine among dietary treatments. The variations in the serum biochemical indices of broiler chickens fed graded levels of Sesamum indicum were in line with the earlier findings of [28,34]. The recorded variations in serum total protein stemmed from the different rate of protein metabolism and utilization by the birds.…”

“…HB is usually transported in the RBC, and RBC together with WBC constitutes the major part of blood in animals, which helps to determine the health status of animals. The values reported in this study are similar to the values reported by Banerjee (1998) and Yakubu and Alfred (2014). A highly significant value of WBC with increased levels of BSC substitution (25%-100% substitution) may be due to increased secretion of cells in the blood due to increased levels of anti-nutritional factors (phytate) found in the BSC based diets.…”

“…Yakubu and Alfred (2014) reported the effect of whole toasted white sesame seed meal used as source of methionine in finisher broilers, while Diarra and Usman (2008) and Agbulu et al (2010) reported the effects of soaked beniseed seed meal and full beniseed meal in supplementing synthetic methionine in laying hens and broilers respectively. Generally, a number of authors had reported on the effects of BSC on broilers or layers (Tangtaweewipat and Cheva-Isarakul, 1993;Mamputu and Buhr, 1995;Farran et al, 2000;Yamauchi et al, 2006;Rao et al, 2008;Mahmoud et al, 2015) .…”
