Abstract:Pompe disease is a serious neuromuscular disorder caused by a genetic defect of lysosomal acid alpha glucosidase (GAA). With dysphagia, skeletal muscle weakness and smooth muscle dysfunction, children with Pompe disease are more susceptible to malnutrition.
