Object tracking using combination of daubechies complex wavelet transform and Zernike moment

Abstract: Moving object tracking is one of the challenging problems in computer vision and it has numerous applications in surveillance system, traffic monitoring etc. The goal of object tracking algorithm is to locate a moving object in consecutive video frames. Tracking of moving object in a video becomes difficult due to random motion of objects. This paper introduces a new algorithm for moving object tracking by exploiting the properties of Daubechies complex wavelet transform and Zernike moment. The proposed method… Show more

“…There are also moving‐picture research studies focused on the detection and elimination of shadows such as [18], which uses the Daubechies complex wavelet, making use of the wavelet coefficient variation to detect shadows. In [19], a method is proposed that combines the Daubechies complex wavelet and Zernike moments as characteristics of the object, implementing an algorithm for object tracking that takes advantage of the Daubechies complex wavelet characteristics. In [20], a shadow detection method is proposed using the illumination invariance property of ratio edges under different lighting conditions.…”

“…In [17], object tracking is done by defining the optical flow, and temporal-spatial context. In [18], object tracking was done with the help of daubechis complex wavelet transform and Zernike moment. Fusing several tracking algorithms also provides significant results.…”
