Abstract:Background: As transgender people initiate gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT), they are exposed to exogenous sex hormones that have effects that have not yet been fully studied. While exogenous estrogen is associated with a risk of venous thrombosis, the full impact of estrogen on the liver is unknown.
