Observations of Nonlinear Landau Damping

Abstract: Nonlinear Landau damping, the nonlinear interaction between two waves in which the beat disturbance is resonant with the particle thermal velocities, has been observed for electron plasma waves. The results confirm the predictions of weak-turbulence theory.
