Abstract:Two magnetospheric phenomena are commonly observed in both SuperDARN (Dual Auroral Radar Network) and ground‐based magnetometer network data. These are ULF pulsations driven by magnetohydrodynamic waves, and flow bursts in the high latitude ionosphere driven by magnetic reconnection. Possible connections between these two phenomena are investigated. TRINNI (Tail Reconnection during IMF Northward, Non‐substorm Intervals) events, high‐speed ionospheric flows resulting from magnetotail reconnection during IMF Bz‐… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
