“…Novel drugs that can release H 2 S in gastric juice and tissue have been designed for the ulcerative, inflammatory and malignant tumour diseases in gastrointestinal tract 4,5 . Unfortunately, more and more people and even domestic animals are suffering from the gastritis, an inflammation of gastric mucosa 6 . One important reason lies in that the excessive hypochlorite (ClO -) 7 daily ingested from water can consume H 2 S in stomach through a fast reaction 8 .…”

“…Hammond, Selikoff, and Churg (1965) examined 57 cancers in relation to onset of exposure and found a mode in the range 30-34 years; 20 intervals were greater than 40 years. Hueper (1965) collected cases from the literature and found mean latent periods in five different countries ranging from 23 to 28 years. The range of observations is therefore considerable and the variation evidently related to the mode of ascertainment and the duration of follow-up.…”

“…For women his mean age was 44-6, which might reflect a younger age distribution at exposure, although he does not say so. Hueper (1965) assembled mean ages from reports published from several countries. The values were 50 years in the United States of America, 57 years in Canada, 54 years in England, and 53 years in Germany.…”
