“…As mentioned above, D. lumholtzi is among the fauna associated with tilapia species (African fish species of the genera Coptodon , Oreochromis , Pelmatolapia , and Sarotherodon ) and can disperse in a secondary way through the water used to transport these cichlid fish (Coelho & Henry, 2017). Because tilapias are intensively used in aquaculture, several species have been continuously introduced worldwide (Canonico et al., 2005; Casal, 2006; Wang & Lu, 2016) taking with them species such as D. lumholtzi (Coelho & Henry, 2017), Mesocyclops ogunnus Onabamiro 1957 (Silva & Roche, 2017), and Trichodina compacta (Van As & Basson, 1989) (Zago et al., 2014), among others. Despite the relatively low incidence of tilapia species in river basins in Europe and the strict legislation to control the species in public waters (Patoka et al., 2018), escapes from breeding grounds and aquarium releases are inevitable.…”

“…, has already been introduced through the cultivation of tilapia in the Amazon basin: however, in this region this species seems In Brazil, non-native zooplankton species were introduced in continental aquatic environments for different reasons (see Table 1), mainly associated with fish (Gabrielli & Orsi, 2000; so far to be restricted to the Jamari River (Silva & Roche, 2017;Figure 1 (Tofoli et al, 2016;Padial et al, 2017). In addition, there is also a federal Project Law No.…”
