Octane Modeling of Isobutanol Blending into Gasoline

Abstract: Thirty-four gasoline blendstocks for oxygenate blending were used to create finished gasoline blends with isobutanol content of 12.5 volume percent (vol. %) and 16 vol. %. The gasoline blendstocks and finished fuels were analyzed for octane number (research [RON] and motor [MON]) to determine the effect of blending isobutanol.
