Abstract:Ethambutol is one of the important first line drugs in the treatment of tuberculosis (TB). It is also commonly employed in the treatment of non-tuberculous mycobacterial infection. ETB may occasionally cause ocular toxicity but evidence suggests that it is as safe as or safer than the other standard anti-TB drugs provided proper precautions are taken when prescribing the drug. 5
