The current study aims to investigate whether pre-service teachers’ tolerance tendencies and democratic tendencies vary significantly depending on gender and mother and father’s education level and the relationship between their tolerance tendencies and democratic tendencies. A total of 417 second-year students from the departments of Turkish teaching, social studies teaching, elementary school teacher training, pre-school teacher training, science teaching, elementary school math teaching, arts, music, psychological counselling and guidance, English teaching and German teaching participated in the current study. In the analysis of the collected data, frequencies, percentages, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskall Wallis test and correlation analysis were used. As a result of the analyses, the pre-service teachers’ tolerance tendencies were found to be very high. The female pre-service teachers’ tolerance tendencies were found to be higher than those of the male pre-service teachers. The pre-service teachers’ tolerance tendencies were found to be not varying significantly depending on mother and father’s education level. The pre-service teachers’ democratic tendencies were found to be higher than the medium level. The female pre-service teachers’ democratic tendencies were found to be higher than those of the male pre-service teachers. The pre-service teachers’ democratic tendencies were found to be not varying significantly depending on mother and father’s education level. A positive, medium and significant correlation was found between the pre-service teachers’ tolerance tendencies and democratic tendencies.

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the tolerance and life satisfaction levels of teacher candidates according to some variables. Therefore, as the main problem of the research, "Do the levels of tolerance and life satisfaction of teacher candidates differ according to some variables?" question has been determined. The teachers, who are the implementer of the education programs, have a significant effect on the correct training of the next generations since they are in direct contact with the students. Students who will be trained by teachers with high tolerance levels are also expected to be tolerant. This study will contribute to determining the tolerance and life satisfaction levels of future teachers. It is a descriptive study prepared in relational screening model, which is one of the quantitative research methods. The sample of the study consists of 771 prospective teachers studying in the education faculties of three different universities in 2018. In this study, Teacher Candidate Tolerance Scale and Life Satisfaction Scale were used. Independent samples t-test and One Way Anova analysis were used to determine binary differences in data analysis. Pearson Product-Moment Analysis was used to determine the relationship between the two variables, and Linear Regression Analysis was used to determine the predictor of life satisfaction levels of teacher candidates' tolerance levels. As a result of the research, it was determined that tolerance and life satisfaction levels of teacher candidates were high. Again, according to the findings obtained in the study, it has been determined that the tolerance levels of teacher candidates differ in favor of male teacher candidates according to gender variable, and whether there is a significant difference in age and family according to variables. It has been determined that the tolerance levels of teacher candidates differ according to the class variable. It was seen that the life satisfaction levels of teacher candidates did not show a significant difference according to gender, age, presence of teachers in the family and class variables. It has been concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between teacher candidates' tolerance tendency levels and life satisfaction levels. In addition, it was concluded that the tolerance levels of prospective teachers are a significant predictor of life satisfaction.

Trained people are an important capital for the development of societies. The source of this capital is education of high quality. Indeed, the most important actor in educational process is teachers.Therefore, teachers need to be trained in a qualified manner, to practice their profession with love, to have positive attitudes and certain values. One of the values that teachers should have is tolerance.In this sense, the aim of the present study was to examine the relationship between pre-service teachers' attitudes towards the profession and their tolerance levels. Relational survey model was employed in the study. The sample of the study involved 356 students at Fırat University Faculty of Education. The findings showed that the participants had positive attitudes and the female participants had more positive attitudes than males. It was found that the attitudes of the participants differed by their departments. In addition, it was concluded that the participants had a high level of tolerance and female participants were more tolerant than males. The tolerance levels of participants did not differ by department. A positive relationship was revealed between the participants' attitudes and tolerance levels. Besides, a positive and significant relationship was found between the participants' attitudes and tolerance levels. It can be put forward that if pre-service teachers have positive professional attitudes, their tolerance levels will increase.
