Abstract:Nanostructured celluloses, in the form of nanofibrils (CNFs) and nanocrystals (CNCs), obtained through TEMPO-mediated oxidation, by controlling the intensity of the process (changing catalyst concentration and processing time), were tested in the stabilization of Pickering emulsions, fabricated through high-pressure homogenization (HPH). Results showed that both CNFs and CNCs provided an efficient steric and electrostatic stabilization of the oil-in-water emulsions. Remarkably, the strong inter-droplet interac… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
