Abstract: : Despite advances in clinical and translational research, an effective therapeutic option for diabetic sensorimotor polyneuropathy (DSP) has remained elusive. The pathomechanisms of DSP are diverse and along with hyperglycemia, the roles of inflammatory mediators and lipotoxicity in development of microangiopathy have been well elucidated.
