Abstract:Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is one of the established biocompatible thermoplastics for scaffolding applications. But due to its partial biodegradability, its use as a bio-absorbable implant is limited. Some studies have outlined that reinforcement of hydroxyapatite (HAp), and chitosan (CS) helps in improving the biodegradability of the PVDF composite matrix. But hitherto little has been reported on the biodegradability comparison for virgin PVDF, and PVDF composite matrix (with different proportions of HAp … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
