On Construction of Disposal Facilities for Radioactive Waste in European Part of Russia

Abstract

The article dwells on feasibility and probability of designing and constructing disposal facilities for low and intermediate level waste in European part of the Russian Federation. Clay and mudstone deposits are considered as host rocks with regards of their widespread. Main reasons preventing the construction of disposal facilities being analyzed and the social reason is stated as a principal one.
