On-line measurement of equivalent parameters of distribution system and its load for harmonic frequencies

Abstract: An on-line measurement of equivalent parameters of a distribution system and a harmonic generating load is discussed in the paper. Four parameters are the subjects of the measurement: the distribution system and the load complex impedances, the complex rms (crms) values J, of the load generated current j harmonics and the crms values E, of the distribution system internal voltage e harmonics. The method discussed is based on measurements performed in two states of the system, before and after disturbing it by a… Show more

“…They have, however, more disadvantages: they are passive, so identification can be done only on systemexisting harmonics, and it is of a poor quality [7]. The large capacitor banks should be precharged and switched on the top of line voltage, and switched off with the zero current -such switching needs additional hardware.…”

“…The "black box" power system description is necessary if there is a lack or limited knowledge on the power grid structure and its loads. In such situations the impedance identification / measurement experiment is a principal source of the information on the grid [1], [2], [5]. Impedance and voltage observations in the PCC deliver the linear model of the grid which has plenty of useful implementations [5], [6], [7].…”
