“…It is also closely similar to the one used by Mahgoub, Juárez‐Arriaga, Böhnel, Manzanilla, and Cyphers (2019) to construct their secular variation curve for Mexico that we consider most reliable than the curve proposed by Garcia et al. (2021), not as selective for anisotropy correction.…”

“…This set of criteria corresponds to the C1 set of Hervé, Perrin, Alva-Valdivia, Tchibinda Madingou, et al (2019) to which we add one microwave determination. “…We do not insert an error to the relocated intensity values (Table 3), as we do not have precise information on the characteristics of the non-dipole field due to the lack of high-quality data in Mexico and the USA. After comparing the intensity curve for Central Mexico with southern USA curve, García et al (2020) argued that non-dipole field between the two regions was small for the past two millennia. We cannot evaluate this suggestion for the moment, but it should be pointed that the data selection strategy used by García et al (2020) includes data that were not considered of sufficient quality in previous studies (Hervé et al, 2019;Mahgoub et al, 2019aMahgoub et al, , 2019bJones-Cervantes et al, 2020).…”

“…Goguitchaichvili et al (2018) curve was constructed for the past 3000 years using intensity data previously published from Mexico and Southern USA. An update of this curve has been recently released (García et al, 2020).…”
