On the Absolute Values of Simultaneous Two-Nucleon Transfer Cross Sections in Heavy Ion Reactions

Abstract

The absolute value of the cross section for reaction 42Ca(16O, 18O)40Ca is calculated considering the reaction as a simultaneous two-nucleon transfer. Overlap factors are obtained in large bases accounting for the continuum contributions. Convergence of the procedure of basis enlargement is investigated. The simultaneous transfer accounts for about half of the cross section.
