Abstract:In this study, numerous armchair and zigzag single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were simulated by a commercial finite element package and their buckling behavior was investigated through performing several computational tests with cantilevered boundary conditions and different bending angles. Both computational and analytical results were compared in the case of straight tubes. It was pointed out that the computational results are in good agreement with the analytical calculations. It was also concluded th… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
