On the Life History of White Grub, Holotrichia consanguinea Blanch. (Coleopt., Melolonthidae)

Abstract: White grub, Holotrichia consanguinea Blanch., is a serious pest of groundnut crop in light soils in western districts of Uttar Pradesh. Besides groundnut, maize, sorghum, Bajra and soyabean crops have also been found damaged by this pest in these districts. Studies on the life history of this pest indicate that the beetles emerge with premonsoon showers in June.
