Abstract:The question of the relevance of the methods presently used to characterize the resistivity of insulating solids is discussed from a critical examination of the standards. A brief review of the involved phenomena is given, which, if necessary, emphasizes the complexity of the subject. The interest of a method of characterization derived from the alternate square wave method, perfectly suited to liquids, is pointed out. Results of measurements on polymers are presented and discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
