Abstract:Hall property Subgroup of odd index Classical group Group of Lie type In this paper we find the number of classes of conjugate π -Hall subgroups in all finite almost simple groups. We also complete the classification of π -Hall subgroups in finite simple groups and correct some mistakes from our previous paper.
“…In this section we give a brief overview of this. Before doing so, we recall the following useful result due to Revin and Vdovin [28] and Gross [11] on the number of conjugacy classes of Hall subgroups in finite simple groups.…”

“…The theory of Hall subgroups in finite groups has been studied extensively. We refer to [24,Chapter 9] for a general introduction and to Revin and Vdovin [28,29] for more recent advances and further references.…”
We describe an effective algorithm to compute a set of representatives for the conjugacy classes of Hall subgroups of a finite permutation or matrix group. Our algorithm uses the general approach of the so-called 'trivial Fitting model'.

“…Для групп A и B символы A × B и A • B обо значают прямое и центральное произведения соответственно, а сим-волы A : B и A.B обозначают соответственно расщепляемое и произвольное расширения группы A с помощью группы B. Следуя [22], обозначим через…”

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
