On the optimization of laser power, efficiency and impedance matching for a copper vapor laser

Abstract: Parameters (including the laser head parameters and the LC values of the power supply) of a copper vapor laser (CVL) on the order of 100 W are optimized by applying a genetic algorithm for three different objective functions. The corresponding three sets of optimal parameters are obtained and used to study the relationships among the laser power, efficiency, and impedance matching of the copper vapor laser. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
