On the performance analysis of dual hop relaying systems using differential amplify‐and‐forward along with post‐detection selection combining techniques over Nakagami‐m fading channels

Abstract: The proposed work analyzes the performance of dual‐hop relaying systems by means of the differential amplify‐and‐forward relaying method. The post‐detection selection combining reception scheme proposed in this article allows receivers to approximate existing fading gain in a branch by using previously received samples to achieve a cooperative diversity at cases that exclude the need of having explicit channel estimation. Assuming independent fading channels, tight closed‐form expressions for the system bit er… Show more

“…Outage performance for CR with full-duplex (FD) relaying had been analysed in [13], where the overall system performance was improved by implementing technical and efficient procedures such as optimal power allocation (OPA). The effect of choosing the location of the best relay and the general power allocation on the performance of CRN had been discussed in [16][17] where ergodic capacity was used to derive the desired results over Rayleigh fading channel. The authors were able to solve some of the critical problems concerning the two-way relaying cognitive network (TWR-CR) by applying the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technique.…”

“…The results show that the system with multiple relays performs better than the one that has a single relay. Using post‐detection SC technique, the effectiveness of dual‐hop differential AF relay system was evaluated in References 1,28. Its BER and OP behavior was analyzed via Nakagami‐m fading channels and additive white Gaussian noise under various independent fading parameters.…”

“…In addition, the performance of the relay channel has been evaluated widely in the literature. [8][9][10][11] A combination of the relay channel and the multiple-access channel (MAC) known as the multiple-access relay channel (MARC) was introduced by Kramer and Van Wijngaarden. 12 In the MARC the relay can help the transmitters to communicate with the destination.…”
