Mendeleka s sodelavci (12) je proučeval 14 osebnostnih dejavnikov tveganja in 17 dejavnikov tveganja pri delu za pojav bolečine v križu pri zdravstvenem osebju. Raziskava, ki je temeljila na kvantitativni anketni metodologiji, je pokazala, da so med vsemi proučevanimi dejavniki tveganja na delovnem mestu najmočneje povezani s pojavnostjo bolečine v križu status zaposlitve, število delovnih ur dnevno in število ur stoječega dela dnevno.…”

“…Prostočasna gibalna aktivnost je pogoj za razvoj tistih mišičnih struktur, ki so nujno potrebne za varno in učinkovito izvedbo zdravstvene oskrbe pacienta z vidika pacienta in z vidika zaposlenega v zdravstveni negi. Dobljeni rezultati se ujemajo z rezultati sorodnih študij, ki pravijo, da je pojav bolečine v križu pogostejši na delovnih mestih, ki zahtevajo dvigovanje težkih bremen, stoječe delo, neustrezno telesno držo, večje telesne obremenitve in na splošno več fizičnega dela (2,5,11,12,13,15,16).
