Abstract: One of the unsolved tasks in the problem of the nature of the Earth's magnetic field (EMF) is the reason for the displacement of the magnetic poles. The work draws attention to the temporal coincidence of the beginning of the accelerated drift of the north magnetic pole with the development of volcanic and tectonic activity in the Yellowstone caldera.
