On thep-complex spectra of the BaH molecule

Abstract: We report new high resolution measurements on the photoabsorption spectra of BaH in the wavelength region 3,000/~-3,800A using the second order of a 3.4 metre Ebert spectrograph and a High pressure xenon arc as the background source of continuum. Observations include two new electronic transitions of BaH and BaD, denoted as K2S-X22; at 3,725A and L2FI-X22; at 3,694A, which are forming a np-complex orginating from the 7p atomic state of barium. A rotational analysis of the band systems have been carried out and… Show more

“…This interpretation confirms the assignment suggested by Veseth [13]. In our previous paper [5] we have reported two new band systems of BaH and assigned them as K2~-X22 and L~II-X2Z transitions, originating from the 7p atomic state of Ba atom. These studies were made in absorption, covering the spectral region from 3600/~ to 3800/~, and the newly observed band systems were rotationally analysed.…”

“…The visual intensity distribution shows that the strongest branch is the Q-branch, whereas the weakest branch is the R-branch as was observed in the case of BaH bands [5].…”
