On toxoflavin, the yellow poison of pseudomonas cocovenenans

Abstract: About 1933 a bacterium, now called Pseudornonas cocovenenans. was discovered by van Veen et al. as being responsible for the well known bongkrek-poisonings in Java. Two toxic principles are produced by this microorganism. One of these is identical with the yellow pigment of this bacterium. The isolation of this substance, toxoflavin, was worked out and the elucidation of its structure was described.
