One‐Pot, Three‐Phase Recycling of Metals from Li‐Ion Batteries in Rotating, Concentric‐Liquid Reactors (Adv. Mater. 29/2023)

Abstract: Battery Recycling In article number 2211946, Bartosz A. Grzybowski and co‐workers present a one‐pot separation of metals from spent lithium‐ion batteries. Three liquid layers occupy different segments of the rotating cylindrical vessel and are intensely stirred to move selected components between layers. In only ten minutes, all cobalt and manganese migrate from the feed to the acceptor layer (red), while lithium and nickel remain in the processed feed layer (green).
