One-step fabrication of highly stable, durable, adhesion enhanced, flexible, transparent conducting films based on silver nanowires and neutralized PEDOT:PSS

Abstract: Silver nanowires (AgNWs) are one of the best material substitutes for indium tin oxide (ITO) in next-generation flexible, foldable, and bendable transparent conducting electrodes (TCEs), due to very low sheet...

“…On the other hand, the composite electrodes AgNWs/rGO and AgNWs/PEDOT:PSS have significant effect on the reduction of sheet resistance, while a small change in transmittance values is observed in Fig. 9 b. Embedding AgNWs in PEDOT:PSS or rGO upper layers to form large hybrid areas assists in enhancing the conductivity and lowering the transparency of C-TCEs 58 . Notably, AgNWs/rGO composite electrode has won the trade-off between optical and electrical properties confirming its ability to perform well in optoelectronic applications.…”

“…Due to blurriness, TCEs even with high transmittance and high electrical conductivity are not usually considered suitable for optoelectronic display applications. Thus, reducing the haze value to the level of ITO (∼1–3) is necessary for display applications. , Though the electrical conductivity of PEDOT-silica hybrid films slightly decreased as compared to the 5% DMSO treated PEDOT:P(SS- co -AMA) film, the PEDOT-silica hybrid films mainitained very low haze and high visible transmittance due to a lower amount of silica content. The PEDOT-silica hybrid film which contain both TEOS and POTES (sample 11) showed the electrical conductivity of 2.27 s/cm with transmittance of 93.12%.…”

“…Silver has been found to have the highest thermal and electrical conductivity among all metals compared to other metals [3][4][5]. Therefore, many attempts were conducted to obtain silver transparent conductive electrodes (TCEs) [6][7][8].…”
